Dream about shooting dog is a metaphor for your weaknesses and shortcomings. You are trying to figure out if the guy/girl you are interested in is suitable for you or not. You want to keep an idea hot or a project on track. It is about a fear of losing your place in the world. Not to forget about the past and what you have left behind.
Shooting dog dream is a premonition for someone who is anal retentive. You are not acknowledging your own self-worth. You are feeling alone and want to know that someone is behind you in whatever you do. This dream is a symbol for regret in something you did. You have broken from your routine or have escaped from a monotonous aspect of your life.

An event, an object, a place, a person... each one has its own interpretation. Read the symbols one by one, but keep in mind the feeling each one left you with. In the end, that one feeling that remains is the dream’s true interpretation.
If It Still Won’t Settle
You have read the symbols, and a feeling has stayed with you. If you can tell whether that feeling is a good sign or a bad one, then you have already interpreted your dream yourself.
But if it came to you tangled, if the pieces will not come together, or if a doubt has settled in, write your dream below, just as it was. The Messenger will interpret it for you; your prayers are thanks enough.
The Messenger awaits your dreams

I had a terrible nightmare last night where I shot my beloved dog, who passed away years ago and I still miss her. In the dream she had attacked someone or done something wrong. That is very out of character for her, in reality. She was the sweetest dog and never hurt or attacked anyone. But in the dream I was tasked with executing her and reluctantly shot her point blank in the head, but she lived and then I comforted her and felt regret. In reality I hate guns and would never shoot anyone.
