Alice CandorA cockatoo marks the way meaningless talk can act as a thin veil over the silence you are perhaps avoiding. This dream may point to a movement where you use words not to communicate, but to occupy a room that has become too still to face. You might find that this noise serves to drown out the harder, more difficult sounds of your own inner life.
The weight of these meaningless sounds can become a distraction that keeps you from hearing what is truly essential. Allowing this constant stream of words to fill your space leaves you hollow. You find that the more the air is filled with this useless sound, the more the truth remains unheard. This dream shows you that your own capacity for meaningful silence is being crowded out by a restless, verbal energy. The capacity for stillness is what you are currently protecting from the noise.
A white cockatoo suggests that this noise is bright and pervasive, acting as a superficial light that prevents you from seeing into the shadows where your real thoughts reside.
A black cockatoo indicates that this chatter has taken on a more somber or heavy quality, turning the distraction into a dark cloud that obscures your clarity.

Alice CandorInterpreter interprets your dreams
The figure that keeps coming back in a dream has usually been waiting a long time to be looked at. A dream tends to bring forward the side of a life that daylight leaves out. What feels alien in it might be the part of you most in need of a hearing. Nothing has to be settled tonight. Which detail stayed with you after waking?
