Alice CandorThe act of killing a rat reveals a movement toward purging a treachery that has been nibbling at the edges of your integrity. You are finally facing a small, persistent theft of your peace that has been happening in the dark. You find yourself deciding to strike at the decay before it eats through the very wood of your life.
An ending is being forced upon a cycle of deception that you have perhaps allowed to persist for too long. The struggle you face is the friction of tearing a long-standing falsehood out from under the floorboards of your life. You are standing where the rot must be met with a blow to keep the damage from spreading. A sudden and finality of this kind can feel like a violent rupture in your sense of security. You possess the capacity to confront what has been hidden. The shadow is met by the strike of the hand.
The presence of a cat killing a rat shifts the movement from your own hands to a more natural, almost inevitable process of balance. You see a clever ally in this figure, suggesting that a sharp, instinctual part of your own nature is rising to handle the treachery for you.
The movement of killing rats implies that you are addressing multiple threads of dishonesty that have woven themselves into your daily life. You are working to strip away a widespread decay that requires more than a single strike to resolve.
A big rat makes the scale of the deceit feel more imposing and heavy in your mind. The size of the threat changes the nature of the task, turning a small correction into a major confrontation with a significant lie.
Your effort is seen as a struggle when you are trying to kill a rat but have not yet achieved the end. You are caught between knowing the harm is there and finding the strength to finish the work.
You are killing two rats, and this division of your attention reveals that the deceit is not coming from a single source. You must address two separate paths of dishonesty that have entered your life.
