Dream about spitting out nails

Spitting out nails suggests a sudden, perhaps uncomfortable, release of the structures you have used to hold your life together. The things that once anchored you are being cast out, leaving a hollow where your old defenses used to reside.

This movement of clearing the mouth indicates a transition where the tools of your survival no longer serve your expression. You are moving through a moment where the hard edges of your endurance are being set aside to make room for a softer way of being. You are currently navigating the space between the security of what is fastened and the vulnerability of what is loose. This expulsion is the way your mind prepares for a new form of articulation.

The loss of these internal supports can feel like a stripping away of your ability to remain fixed. Your strength is currently shifting from the hardness of a fastening to the flexibility of a living breath.

Spitting out fingernails changes the nature of this release by turning a loss of structural support into a loss of your personal defenses. When you find yourself spitting out fingernails, the dream points to a shedding of the ways you protect yourself from the world. This movement suggests that your capacity to guard your boundaries is being surrendered to allow for a more open encounter with your surroundings.
